Independent Candidate Mahabir Pun Wins Myagdi–1 Seat

Independent candidate and social innovator Mahabir Pun has secured a significant victory in Myagdi-1, defeating candidates from major political parties and marking an important moment for independent politics in Nepal.

According to the final vote count, Mahabir Pun received 22,580 votes, emerging as the clear winner in the constituency. His closest competitor, Harikrishna Shrestha from the CPN (Maoist Centre), secured 7,199 votes, while Karna Bahadur Bhandari of the Nepali Congress received 6,663 votes.

Pun, widely known for his contributions to technology, education, and rural innovation in Nepal, ran as an independent candidate with a campaign focused on development, innovation, and community empowerment. His victory is seen by many observers as a reflection of growing public support for independent and development-focused leadership.

Supporters in Myagdi celebrated the result, describing it as a historic win for grassroots innovation and community-driven development.
